Catherine is in her fourth term as Member of Provincial Parliament for Waterloo and is currently serving as the Official Opposition Critic for Finance & Treasury Board and as the Vice Chair for the Standing Committee on Finance & Economic Affairs. 
 
Catherine is a strong advocate for the Waterloo community who fights for strategic investments in public education, public health care, and for inclusive, responsive mental health supports.
Prior to serving as MPP, Catherine worked tirelessly for a decade on behalf of the families of Waterloo Region to help improve the quality and their access to education. Over the course of her 4 terms as MPP, Catherine has been instrumental in the passage of Rowan's Law, Missing Persons Legislation, Fairness for Ontario Realtors, and recognition of Craft Brewers.
In Sept 2022, Catherine re-introduced her Till Death Do Us Part Act, which would amend the Long-Term Care Homes Act to provide spouses with the right to live together in a home.
