Recognizes the outstanding achievements of young volunteers aged 15 to 24 across Ontario. Is considered the highest recognition for youth volunteerism in Ontario.

Recognizes individuals for 5 to 60+ years of continuous service in a given organization – youth are recognized for 2+ years of volunteer service.

Lieutenant Governor’s Community Volunteer Award for Students
Recognizes an exemplary volunteer among the graduating students of each of Ontario’s secondary schools who not only completes the number of volunteer hours required to graduate, but demonstrates exceptional commitment to the community.
Deadline: Spring – exact deadline is set by each school’s Principal.
Order of Ontario
The province of Ontario’s most prestigious and highest official honour for outstanding qualities of individual excellence and achievement in any field.

Senior of the Year Award
Recognizes a local outstanding senior in each municipality in the province who, after age 65, has enriched the social, cultural or civic life of the community – without thought of personal or financial gain.

James Bartleman Aboriginal Youth Awards for Creative Writing
Recognizes up to six Aboriginal students for their creative writing talent. Creative pieces may include, but are not limited to short stories, poems, essays, plays, or songs and must be original work created by the student. Each recipient will receive a certificate and a cash award of $2,500.

Recognizes young people who have demonstrated exemplary leadership in eliminating racial discrimination.

Senior Achievement Award
Recognizes outstanding seniors who, after age 65, have made significant contributions to their communities.

Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship
Recognizes those who, without expectation of remuneration or reward, and through exceptional long-term efforts, have made outstanding contributions to the well-being of their communities.

Recognizes members of Ontario’s firefighting forces, whose actions exemplify superlative courage and bravery in the line of duty.

David C. Onley Award for Leadership in Accessibility
Recognizes outstanding Ontarians who demonstrate exemplary leadership in advocacy and the promotion of accessibility and disability issues.

June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Award for Volunteerism in Ontario
Recognizes extraordinary leadership, innovation and creativity among individuals, organizations and businesses that have made superlative contributions to their communities and the province through voluntary action.

Hilary M. Weston Scholarship
Two scholarships in the amount of $7,500 each are awarded to students enrolled in a full-time graduate level social work program at a publicly funded university. Applicants must have demonstrated interest in and commitment to mental health issues, as well as outstanding scholastic achievements.

Leading Women Building Communities
Acknowledges and celebrates women and girls who demonstrate exceptional leadership in working to improve the lives of others in their communities.
Deadline: December – specific date in December set by local MPP Office.
